We invite you to attend the 6th annual Center for Food Integrity (CFI) Food System Summit in Chicago, IL on October 25 and 26, 2011. Summit partners this year include the International Food Information Council (IFIC) and the National Restaurant Association (NRA). For this year’s theme, "Food Choices, Challenges and Realities," the program will feature top food safety and nutrition experts and other leaders in the field. The 2011 Summit will take an in-depth look at the key issues surrounding consumer food choices, the evolving challenges and the effects on our food system. Speakers and participants will engage in interactive discussions on key issues currently impacting public perceptions of nutrition, food safety, agriculture and food production.  The Summit is open to members of the food and agricultural production system, health professionals, and anyone with an interest in food and nutrition!

In addition, Registered Dietitians (RDs) and Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTRs) attending the Summit will be eligible for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit!

Program Information:

Breakout sessions with panel discussions focused on Food Safety, Nutrition and Health, Food Animal Well-Being and Technology and Innovation are planned during the two-day Summit. IFIC will host the following sessions on Food Safety and Nutrition & Health.

On Tuesday afternoon, October 25th from 2:00 - 5:00 pm, IFIC will convene a panel of speakers in our “Food Safety” breakout session to discuss “Communicating the Facts and Beyond – Values-Based Food Safety Communication.”
