International Food Information Council Foundation Accepting Applications for its 2014 Sylvia Rowe Fellowship

(Washington, D.C.) –The International Food Information Council Foundation is currently accepting applications for its annual Sylvia Rowe Fellowship. The fellowship, established in 2007 as a tribute to former International Food Information Council Foundation President and CEO Sylvia B. Rowe, seeks promising nutrition and food safety communicators to help enhance their capabilities.  The goal of this award is to develop the recipient’s communication skills so that they can communicate nutrition and food safety information to the public in an academic setting, professional situation, or other public venues.

The recipient will be awarded an eight- to 12-week paid internship at the International Food Information Council Foundation offices in Washington, D.C.

“This fellowship is a great opportunity for students who are looking to broaden their experience in nutrition, health, or food safety communication,” said David Schmidt, International Food Information Council Foundation president and CEO. “Through this Foundation effort, we hope to help further develop skills to make the talented recipients even more effective communicators.”

Prospective applicants must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within 12 months from the time of application) from a university undergraduate OR graduate program in nutrition, food safety, and/or journalism/communications.
