Healthy Aging: Living Well, Living Longer

Issue May 2010

This year, the International Food Information Council Foundation has launched a Healthy Aging Initiative, with the goal of providing science-based information and actionable advice on food safety, nutrition, healthful eating and physical activity to those who are aging and those who provide care to aging individuals.  A “Healthy Aging section” has been created on the Foundation Web site to house our healthy aging materials, ranging from food safety to diabetes and everything in between.  “The launch of the Foundation's Healthy Aging section will help us improve or maintain our health as we age,” says Dr. Nancy Wellman, Chair of the Information Food Information Council Foundation Board of Trustees. “It’s never too late or too early to begin thinking of ways to prolong our lives and our independence through healthful eating habits.”
