We heard the sad announcement out of Denver that Pat Bowlen, the 30-year owner of the Broncos, is stepping aside from his involvement with the team to deal with Alzheimer's disease.

Alzheimer's is one of the most mysterious of diseases, with a lot of uncertainty in the medical community about exactly what causes it and what the risk factors are.
