Newsbite: Alliance to Feed the Future Announces First "Communicator of the Year"

The Alliance to Feed the Future announced the winner of its first Communicator of the Year Award, Ryan Goodman, at the 15th Farm Journal Forum on December 4th in Washington, D.C.

Ryan grew up on a family cattle ranch in Arkansas, raising commercial Angus cattle with a herd of 1,200 cows. He is a master’s degree candidate studying interactions between cattle nutrition and reproduction at the University of Tennessee. He also recently became Manager of Communications for the Montana Stockgrowers Association.

The Communicator of the Year Award, given in collaboration with CropLife America, recognizes effective and innovative new voices that are enhancing the public dialogue about modern food production through multi-channel communications, including social media. Goodman was bestowed the honor for his passion and devotion to agricultural communications. Goodman is author of the blog Agriculture Proud and also offers a farmer’s perspective through video vignettes he posts to his blog and on YouTube. He has also contributed several blog post posts to CNN’s Eatocracy blog.
